Michigan Macomb County
Nor even in this hasty review must we forget our faithful bell ringer, Mr. Cyrus Hopkins, who now for thirty-three years has called the people together for divine worship.
Only this very brief outline of the history of the church can we take
space to give.
Of the present equipments and outlook of the church, Mr. Fairfield
spoke as follows:
THE KIND OF A CHURCH THIS IS.
This is a genuine orthodox Congregational church, both in polity and in doctrine, This church was organized on the " accommodation plan," sometimes facetiously, but felicitously called " Presbygationalism." After a few years of unsatisfactory experience in the use of this "accommodation plan," the church settled down on the simple Congregational basis, and on that good old Puritan, and what is far better, gospel foundation,
it stands to-day.
