Charles Jackson. Jeremiah Moore and Levi Cook were a committee of arrangements for the installation of Detroit Lodge of Free Masons, December 21, 1821.
The Indians, Ke-taw-kah and Ke-wa-bis-haw, were executed for the murder of W. S. Madison and Charles Ullrich, after having first a Protestant and then a Catholic sermon preached to them.
Rev. Eleazer Williams, * missionary to the Oneida Indians, arrived July 12, 1821, with a deputation of the Six Nations, on a visit to their brethren at Green Bay,
Capt. Benj. Woodworth, a carpenter by trade, who came to Detroit in 1807 to build the Gov. Hull house, the first brick building in Michigan, figures at the time as- a sort of Caleb Quotem. He keeps a hotel (the old Steamboat hotel), runs a ferry to Windsor, is captain of an artillery company, carries on a grist mill at Rochester and runs the only line of stages in Michigan between Detroit and Mt. Clemens, the route being on the river bank and across the Grand Marais. Capt. Woodworth died two or three years ago at St. Clair, , 92 years of age.
Rev. Platt B. Morey, of the Methodist Episcopal church, died at Mt. Cleinens, December 20, 1821.
Dr. R. B. Rice. and Israel Lee are appointed commissioners of insolvent estates in Macomb county.
Benjamin Stead, an old citizen, died at his residence in Hamtramek, now Detroit, September 25, 1821.
Thomas Palmer and Mary Witherell are married, August 20, 1821.
